The Services Sound and Vision Corporation (SSVC) is a charitable organisation which operates British Forces Broadcasting under contract to the Ministry of Defence, running radio stations in places where there are large concentrations of British military, abroad and at home, and broadcasting the best of British TV to Forces and their families based overseas.
In recent years the organisation has developed other media activities, not under contract to the MoD, to support the Forces: Forces TV is available on Sky, Virgin, Freesat and Freeview and reaches nearly 1 million viewers a week, while our website forces.net attracts nearly 500,000 monthly uniques. Our live events team regularly stages shows for military and related audiences.
We also run a number of training programmes for military veterans and government clients, as well as bespoke media distribution systems to the UK military and other potential customers.
The company has traditionally done very little marketing but is currently undergoing a brand audit, which will then inform a comprehensive and ambitious new marketing and communications strategy and plan.
We are now looking for an experienced and creative marketing executive who can support the director of communications and work alongside a PR manager, stakeholder communications manager and digital marketing executive.
The right person for this position will have experience of brand and marketing, and of creating effective marketing materials across multiple channels.
The successful candidate will have a flexible and ‘can do’ attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, strong organisational skills, a keen eye for detail and determination to produce excellent results in a friendly, varied and dynamic work environment.
