Content Manager – Podcast and Digital Audio

We’re looking for an experienced, on-demand audio expert, to innovate in audience-led podcast and web content strands for BFBS Radio.  In this dual role, you’ll also pitch for and make content for commercial clients, as part of the BFBS Creative agency team.

This is a new role and an opportunity to shape BFBS’s future approaches to non-linear content, try new things and encourage others to do the same.

As our subject matter expert working alongside a team of multi-skilled, audio professionals, we’ll look to you for creative solutions as well as to train and mentor other content creators.

You’ll have at least 3-years’ experience in leading editorial decisions in an audio production environment and will be able to demonstrate success in devising and delivering a successful podcast strand.   Strong, practical edit skills will be second nature and you’ll understand the intricacies of audience insight, SEO and audio publishing strategies.  A wide knowledge of platform opportunities as well as the rights and compliances around third party content are also essential.

You’ll be passionate about on demand audio, audience/customer focussed and able to engage with internal and external stakeholders, helping them understand the exciting opportunity audio presents.  You’ll have experience in commissioning & making content, as well as in supporting others’ work, shaping their skills.

This will be a busy job, with a variety of projects to juggle so you’ll be well organised and a self-starter with very high professional standards.  Based at our HQ near Gerrard’s Cross in Buckinghamshire and at our London office, currently in Victoria, you’ll also be willing to travel more widely to gather material and work with remote teams.
